Katie Connor is the Executive Director of Undergraduate Career Development at the Leeds School of Business. The office prepares over 3,000 undergraduates for careers in business by providing students with professional skills, career exploration, industry experiences, and access to employer and alumni connections throughout their four years at Leeds. Leeds supports students in developing professional competencies and business connections through innovative programs and real-world experiences such as our 1st-year orientation CoLab, Sophomore Site Visits, Career Treks and a continuum of mentoring experiences. Prior to this role, Katie led the Leeds Mentoring Office, which offers mentoring programs from freshman through senior year to support Leeds’ undergraduates and MBAs in their academic, personal and professional development. These programs now enroll and connect a total of over 2,500 students and professional mentors.
Prior to her work in Career Development, Katie taught business applications to undergraduates and business writing to MBA students at Leeds. Before coming to CU, Katie worked for over 20 years in engineering, project management, and management consulting with Bechtel Corporation, Sohio Petroleum Company, and Decision Focus Inc., in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Katie has entrepreneurial experience, as one of the founders of a retail coffee business in Hong Kong, the Pacific Coffee Company, and has served as a board member for several local non-profits, including, the Dairy Center for the Arts, Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), Dawson School, and Friends School.
She earned her BS in Applied Earth Science and MS in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Katie enjoys all the outdoor activities that Boulder has to offer and loves to travel and spend time watching or playing sports with her husband and sons.
