Kathryn’s experience spans 19 years in the communications, technology, financial services, and healthcare/nonprofit industries. As the Executive Director of Corporate and External Relations, Kathryn is responsible for cultivating and stewarding mutually beneficial relationships with corporate and external partners on behalf of the Leeds School of Business. In addition to spearheading key corporate partnerships, Kathryn provides strategic leadership of Alumni Relations and Engagement, the Leeds Board of Advisors and other critical external constituent relations functions within the Advancement group.
Before joining CU, Kathryn served as the State Director for the March of Dimes in Colorado and Wyoming where she oversaw all aspects of the March of Dimes from programs, public affairs and marketing to events, fundraising, operations and volunteer development. Her statewide responsibilities included oversight of the Denver, Southern Colorado and Western Slope divisions, as well as the state of Wyoming. Marshall previously served as the Chair of the March of Dimes Denver Division Board of Directors.
Prior to the March of Dimes, Kathryn was Founder and President of Blue Tiger Group, a business consulting firm specializing in helping businesses improve operations and financial results, and uncover new growth opportunities.
In 2004, Kathryn pursued her lifelong entrepreneurial passion and became a Co-owner and Chief Operating Officer at 104 West Partners, a public relations firm specializing in breakthrough communication strategies. There she managed the agency, led several successful client campaigns and guided all of the day-to-day business operations for the firm. Within six years, Kathryn helped transform 104 West from a start-up to a respected public relations firm that was ranked as Denver’s largest technology-focused PR agency by the Denver Business Journal. Prior to 104 West, Kathryn served as a Director of Public Relations for Metzger Associates, a high-tech PR agency.
Kathryn began her career in investment banking and finance serving as the Assistant Director of Operations at Unicom Capital LLC, a Wall Street investment fund, and working for Hanifen Imhoff, an investment banking firm.
Kathryn served on the Board of Advisors of the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business for seven years where she also earned her bachelor of science in finance. She is also an Advisory Board member for DStreet Communications.
