Joe Duarte received his B.A from the University of Colorado Boulder in Ethnic studies with a minor in Education. As a first-generation college graduate, Joe has made it his mission to advocate for the education of all youth. Upon completion of his B.A., Joe joined City Year; where he served at North High School for his year of service. He worked directly with the freshman class, while engaging the school and North Denver community. After his year of service, he then worked for Friends First, a local non-profit organization that mentors teens to make healthy life choices. In his work, Joe educated and mentored middle school through high school students in the Denver Metro area. Most recently, he joined the Leeds School of Business Office of Diversity Affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition to program management, Duarte’s primary role is to advise, track and maintain a diverse undergraduate caseload of students at Leeds.
