Jay Waddell is an instructor of marketing at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. Mr. Waddell received his BS in education and business from the University of Wisconsin. He later returned to the University of Wisconsin to earn his MS in marketing, graduating with honors.
Mr. Waddell’s career in marketing spans over thirty years. He has held several roles at Datex Ohmeda including: Strategic Planning Analyst, International Product Manager, International Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing. He then went on to serve as the Vice President of Marketing for Peak One, and the Managing Director for Sterling-Rice Group. Besides his instruction, he also currently serves as a Principal at Tango Strategy.
During his career, he managed global marketing efforts for a $125 million division of a $6 billion company, founded a successful medical device start up that achieved revenues of $24 million with a four year period, led business development and consulting initiatives for a wide range of Fortune 500 clients, and led brand strategy, innovation and research consulting initiatives for a broad array of B2B and B2C clients across diverse categories.
Mr. Waddell’s teaching experience includes delivering lectures at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the University of Denver, and the University of Colorado.
