Would you like to get more involved in sustainability and corporate social responsibility while at the Leeds School of Business? Are you interested in being part of a community of like-minded students and professionals who share your interest in making a social impact?
Fifty-two incoming and current Leeds students have already joined the Center for Education on Social Responsibility’s (CESR) new student group, CESR Fellows, before its official launch September 9th at the first CESR Fellows Meet & Greet event.
“We are excited to see so much early interest in CESR Fellows and predict it will be a robust and active group” says Mark Meaney, CESR Executive Director, who plans to have significant involvement with the program.
CESR Fellows – What It’s All About
CESR Fellows is CESR’s new student group designed for Leeds undergraduates who have a passion for the use of market-based tools to make a positive social and environmental impact. In joining the group, students connect with a community of like-minded peers, faculty and corporate executives who share their passion. As Fellows, students will have ample opportunity to network within this community of demonstrated values-driven leadership.
The CESR Fellows program is a four-year experience that rewards academic excellence and provides exclusive career development. Students can join anytime up until the end of their junior year at Leeds to take advantage of programming customized for their particular year. The program offers opportunities like networking with faculty and industry executives; topical workshops; volunteer activities; membership in CESR’s robust alumni network; the CESR CSR Career Trek; peer-to-peer and professional mentoring; and a vehicle towards obtaining the Socially Responsible Enterprise (SRE) Certificate. CESR Fellows will be strongly encouraged to pursue the SRE Certificate and will be incented to do so through the Marc Prisant and Heidi Heltzel Scholarship for Socially Responsible Enterprise and Business Ethics, an exclusive scholarship for students actively pursuing the Certificate.
CESR Fellows is a student-directed community, with leadership support from the CESR office.
