Kate Harris, a Leeds School of Business sophomore, has worked as a student assistant at CESR for the last two years and appears to have taken CESR’s mission of social responsibility to heart.
Through her involvement with the Leeds Scholars Program, Kate and other students are partnering with local employers and organizations to host a job readiness fair for homeless individuals in Boulder. The project is called Boulder Boost: A Bridge to the Workplace.
The fair will offer resources from around the Boulder area to provide information on job interviews and resumes, day labor, available jobs, and more. In the afternoon, haircuts, mock interviews, and voter registration will be provided along with a raffle for prizes.
"We're helping them to see what they can bring to a workforce and that they do have value," Kate said.
