The 2nd annual Conscious Capitalism Conference: Unleashing the Power of Passion and Purpose was hosted by the Center for Education on Social Responsibility (CESR) and took place on March 2nd, 2011 for selected students from around the state by invitation only. Luella Chavez D’Angelo was the third speaker of the event.
Luella Chavez D’Angelo is the president of the Western Union Foundation. Western Union is one of the largest money transfer services in the world with more than 365,000 agent locations across 205 countries and territories. In 2000, Western Union Foundation began as a philanthropic organization assisting charitable programs in sending donations across the world. Since it began, Western Union has granted more than $40 million to non-governmental organizations for humanitarian aid, granted more than 485 scholarships to non-traditional students, aided in more than 50 disaster relief operations, and donated more than $9 million dollars to community projects through their Agent-Gift Match Program.
D’Angelo was previously the director of marketing for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. While there, her responsibilities included managing the advertising and promotions, public affairs, community relations, and corporate sponsorship departments. Prior to her tenure at the Denver Museum, Ms. D’Angelo was the director of marketing for the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. Following her time with the New Mexico Museum, Ms. D’Angelo was the vice president of Institutional Development for the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
