Health Insurance Rates

  • $2,311* per semester (fall and spring) - Anthem Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)
  • $250 per semester - BuffCare Supplemental Coverage Program​

Impact on the tuition bill: If you do not waive the Anthem Gold SHIP each fall semester by providing verification of private insurance, the amount for Anthem Gold SHIP will appear on the tuition bill and will be included in the balance due for the semester. You can find instructions on how to make your selections on the Health Insurance Requirement website.

Spring 2024 Deadlines for Health Insurance Selection

These deadlines apply to new spring first-year and transfer students only. Continuing students' fall selection applies for one year: fall, spring and summer.

  • Dec. 12, 2023 (Tues.): Insurance portal opens
  • Feb. 5, 2024 (Mon.): Deadline to pay the university bill
  • Feb. 14, 2023 (Wed.): Insurance selection deadline (portal closes)

How to Check Your or Your Student's Selection

Students

  1. Students log in to Buff Portal.
  2. Search for "health insurance" and click "Student Health Insurance."
  3. Click "Enroll/Waive Coverage."

Guests

  1. Log in to CU Guest Access. (Learn How to Set Up CU Guest Access.)
  2. In the left column, click "View Health Insurance."
