These rates are provided for planning purposes for continuing undergraduate students whose first term of enrollment was prior to Fall 2022. Estimates reflect Tuition Guarantee Group Q rates for one academic year, August through May (two semesters, fall and spring). Individual costs may vary.

Estimated one-year cost of $29,954 includes tuition, fees, on-campus housing and books:

Tuition $11,040 for one year (Guarantee Group Q*)

  • $5,520 per semester for enrollment in 12–18 credit hours.
  • Full-time enrollment for financial aid purposes is 12 credit hours per semester.
  • This amount is the tuition rate after the College Opportunity Fund stipend has been applied, and this amount is included in the Cost of Attendance for financial aid purposes.
  • For incoming first-year students and transfers, this rate is guaranteed for four years. Learn more about the Tuition Guarantee.

Mandatory Fees $1,568 for one year

  • $784 per semester for enrollment in 7 or more credit hours.
  • See Mandatory Student Fees for descriptions.
  • This amount for student fees is included in the Cost of Attendance for financial aid purposes.

On-Campus Housing & Meals $16,146 for one year

  • This rate is based on $8,073 per semester for an on-campus standard double room (roommate(s) and community bath) with 19 meals per week. Other rooms are available, please see more housing options. This amount is billed by the university and is included in the Cost of Attendance for financial aid.
  • Off Campus: $15,164
  • Living with parent(s): $5,246
  • These estimates for living off campus and living with parents are determined by the Colorado Department of Education, the Office of Financial Aid and Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations, and are included in the Cost of Attendance for financial aid purposes.

Books/Supplies $1,200 for one year

  • Costs for books and supplies can vary widely depending on your program of study.
  • This estimate for books and supplies is determined by the Colorado Department of Education and the Office of Financial Aid, and is included in the Cost of Attendance for financial aid purposes.
  • Books and supplies purchased from the CU Book Store can be applied to the tuition bill. See more information about charging your books to the bill.

Other costs not included in this estimate:

Indirect Costs $3,014 for one year

Indirect costs are not billed by the university. Personal and transportation estimates are determined by the Colorado Department of Education and the Office of Financial Aid, and are included in the Cost of Attendance for financial aid purposes. 

  • Allowance for personal costs if living on campus $1,520 (e.g., haircuts, laundry, cell phone, snacks, clothes)
  • Allowance for transportation costs for Colorado resident undergraduates $1,494 (e.g., gas, parking)
