Dear [firstname] [lastname],

The University of Colorado Boulder issues 1098-T tax forms in January each year. The 1098-T tax form can be used to claim educational tax breaks, if you are eligible. (Visit the IRS Tax Benefits for Education Information Center for more information or consult with a tax advisor to see if you are eligible.)

Download the 1098-T in CU Guest Access

  • Parents and others can access the form in CU Guest Access. Visit How to Set Up CU Guest Access for instructions on how your student can give you access.
  • If you have more than one student attending CU Boulder, then each student must give you access individually.
  • 1098-T forms are available online only. Forms are not mailed. (Students can access the form themselves in Buff Portal.)

If you have questions

  • The University of Colorado cannot provide tax advice. Please contact a tax advisor regarding your specific situation regarding your taxes and how you might be able to use the 1098-T form.
  • For general information about 1098-T tax forms, please visit the Tax Info webpage on the Bursar's Office website.
  • For help with CU Guest Access, please visit the CU Guest Access webpage on the Office of the Registrar's website.

Thank you.
