Last year, students were issued an electronic 1098-T tax form from CU Boulder via the student portal.

For parents/others: The form can be used to claim educational tax credits if you are eligible to claim your student as a dependent. If you are not eligible to claim your student as a dependent, please disregard this notice.

We are informing you about two changes effective for 2018.

NEW! Amounts Paid
Effective for the 2018 tax year, we will now report Box 1, payments received for qualified tuition and related expenses, instead of Box 2. This is a result of changes in federal regulations. Consult a tax advisor for more information about this change and how it may affect you.size=one-half order=last

NEW! Parent Access to 1098-T
Through CU Guest Access, parents (or others who may be eligible to claim a student as a dependent) can download the 1098-T themselves. For instructions on CU Guest Access, visit How to Set Up CU Guest Access.

Note: If a student has already set up guest access for someone and wants to add the 1098-T form, log in to the student portal, go to Profiles & Settings > Manage Profile and Privacy, click CU Guest Access. Click Edit and check the box next to View 1098-T. Then click Resend Email Notification and Save.

When is the form available?
1098-T tax forms will be available in the student portal by January 31.
