Dr. Keeling’s (née Bates) office is located in the North Tower of the Engineering Center in ECNT 220.

Novella Keeling (née Bates) is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Program. Dr. Keeling teaches senior design in BME Capstone Design I & II (BMEN 4010/4020) and also teaches Introduction to BME (BMEN 2000). She serves as a faculty advisor for the CU student chapter of Engineering World Health and is also chair of the Teaching Affairs Committee within the Faculty Governance Council. 

Dr. Keeling has a B.S. in Biochemistry from Portland State University and received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Oregon Health & Science University where she worked on engineering novel cardiovascular biomaterials and contact pathway-targeted therapeutics. She has previously taught General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry at Clark College in Vancouver, WA. She is committed to and passionate about mentoring the next generation of biomedical engineers.
