The IT Student Governance Board advises CU-Boulder’s Associate Vice Chancellor for IT/Chief Information Officer on strategic IT initiatives aimed at improving the technological lives of the 30,000 students at CU-Boulder. This Board addresses concerns with current services as well as providing forward-looking advice and counsel on new services.
The Board is part of the formal Information Technology Governance structure at CU-Boulder and operates in parallel with the ERP Governance Committee, Technology Governance Group, and the IT Faculty Advisory Committee. Each of these committees advises the CIO on information technology.
The Board meets monthly for 90-minutes during the academic year. Commitment outside of these meetings is typically a maximum of 30 minutes preparation, and possible optional recognition, celebration, or service launch events. The Board keeps minutes and issues position statements as needed.
The IT Student Governance Board consists of student leaders from across the university with a wide range of academic disciplines, schools and colleges represented by both graduate and undergraduate students. All currently enrolled CU-Boulder students are eligible to apply to participate on the Board.
