The 1,000 sq. ft. (12 ft. to grid) broadcast television production studio lies adjacent to the Black Box performance space. Chroma-key and blackout environments are available.
Three Sony standard definition SDI cameras with teleprompters.
The studio is lit using fine tungsten and florescent lighting instruments controlled by a multi-dimmer ETC lighting console.
The studio is fully soundproofed and doubles as an audio recording facility utilizing a wide selection of world-class microphones and ProTools audio production components to digitally record, sweeten, edit and process audio content.
The facility holds two self-contained production control rooms with professional, 16-input EchoLab Nova 1716x switchers, two 24×4 Mackie audio consoles and Chyron duet graphics systems.
The rooms are divided by a soundproof sliding glass door that when open provides a unique production control classroom allowing for a great amount of collaboration and efficiency. The master control room can be seen from both control rooms furthering the students’ technical knowledge that normally would be out of view.
The digital media technology at the core of the new facility enables streamlined production and distribution across multiple platforms.
A greenroom, adjacent to both the television production studios and Black Box, is furnished to provide performers with all necessary off-stage comforts. Men’s and women’s changing and makeup rooms provide ample space for large productions.
