Kelli McAntee
First-Year Academic Advising Supervisor

she, her, hers

Hi there! I was raised in a military family – born in Germany and lived in several different states before landing in beautiful Colorado.  I graduated from Colorado State University (CSU) (yeah, yeah… a Ram at heart) with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, and a minor in Political Science.   I am currently pursuing a Master of Social Science, with an emphasis in Social Justice, at CU Denver.

One of my greatest passions is traveling and meeting people from different countries.   I thoroughly enjoyed my study abroad experience at Charles University in Prague.  Therefore, after graduating from CSU, I moved to Madrid, Spain.  While there I studied Spanish, taught English, volunteered at Amnesty International, made friends from all over Europe and traveled as much as possible.  Upon returning from Spain, I worked in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming and Breckenridge, Colorado in the hospitality career field and worked with non-profit organizations.  These jobs gave me the opportunity to interact with vacationers from all over the world as well as spend my time off hiking, camping and skiing in the scenic Rocky Mountains.

After frolicking in the mountains for awhile, I joined the fabulous team at CU Boulder College of Arts & Sciences Resource Center. There, I assisted first-year students explore majors, get connected to campus resources and I helped develop and implement the first Arts & Sciences Peer Advising and Peer Mentoring (CU Thrive) programs.  I found I loved helping students find their way and I decided to transition into the academic advising career field.

I encourage students to take full advantage of all of the incredible opportunities CU has to offer so they are well positioned to achieve their academic, personal and professional goals.   I am thrilled to be an academic advisor and look forward to working with both students and staff alike!
