she, her, hers

Originally from Iowa, I received my B.A. in Communication Studies and a minor in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies from The University of Iowa – Go Hawkeyes! I later went on to receive my M.Ed with an emphasis in Higher Education from Upper Iowa University in 2021. I started my career in higher education because of the advice of my amazing Academic Advisor who let me know there was a Career Center on campus (who knew!?) that was hiring students interested in becoming a Peer Advisor. She encouraged me to apply, and I was offered an internship with the Career Center at The University of Iowa as a Peer Career Advisor. This internship led me to my passion in working in higher education and helping students get the most out of their college experience. After graduation, I was able to take a role as a Career Development Coordinator at Kirkwood Community College in Washington, Iowa where I worked predominantly with students enrolling in college credit courses while in high school. After two years at Kirkwood, my fiancé, who was active duty at the time was stationed at Fort Campbell which led me to take a role as an Academic Advisor at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. While at Austin Peay, I worked in the College of STEM with students who were interested in applying to professional school as well as working with first-year students who were exploring all different majors.

After two years in Tennessee, I moved to Arvada, Colorado after my fiancé decided to transition out of the military and we were finally able to decide where we wanted to go next! I have always been in love with the mountains, and I grew up taking trips to Colorado almost every year, so Colorado has always felt like a piece of home. Outside of work, I love to bake, cheer on the Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings, and Twins, watch (mostly re-watch) movies and my favorite TV shows, listen to music, podcasts, and explore all the beauty that Colorado has to offer with my fiancé, Reid, and our golden retriever, Cannoli.

I am thrilled to be in Boulder supporting students on their academic journey here at CU!
