Space Management & Construction
Responsibilities:
Built Environment
- Manage the College of Arts and Sciences Building Portfolio
- Align physical plant maintenance, upgrades and new construction efforts with the college's mission
Construction-Related Activities
- Offer general support to departments interested in renovation projects
- Facilitate communication between departments and project management/construction resources inside and outside the University
- College of Arts and Sciences owners representative for capital projects
- Oversee quality and consistency of construction project delivery in the A&S portfolio
Space Management Issues
- Primary point of contact for space requests
- Manage advancement of space requests to the Space Committee, and if required, the Provost’s Office
- Manage space Memorandum of Understanding documentation
Inclusive Design
- Create spaces that are welcoming for all
- Strive for a built environment that is accessible, comfortable and inspiring
- Seek out equity in design
Funding Applications
- Support the development of responses to Funding Opportunity Announcements for infrastructure improvements
- Manage the CAS Request for Funds solicitation
- In partnership with Facilities Management, coordinate other funding opportunities like Controlled Maintenance, Deferred Maintenance, Energy Incentives, etc.
