This is a 12-credit program uniquely designed for non-business students so that they can effectively perform in a global business environment.
Through our Foundation courses, students are introduced to the essential elements of Marketing & Management (BUSM 2010/11) and Finance & Accounting (BUSM 2020/21). Students then choose between one of five track options: Innovation, Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Global Business or Real Estate (BUSM 30XX). While not required, students may complete multiple tracks for increased breadth of application. Finally, students complete their minor with a Capstone course (BUSM 4010) focused on business plan development, giving students the opportunity to apply what they have learned in their Foundation and Track courses. Students participate in a business competition followed by a celebratory recognition ceremony where competition winners are acknowledged by Leeds and the local business community.
Foundation courses are available in the fall, spring and summer, while our Track and Capstone courses are only available in the fall and spring semesters.
Professional development is an important aspect in the Business Minor experience. Each semester we offer career building workshops that cover topics ranging from networking with confidence to establishing a personal brand. Graduates of the Business Minor will have gained both business acumen and professionalism, better preparing them for a competitive job market.
Spring Deadline: October 15
