
Lexi Peterson is a first year MA student from Jacksonville, Florida. She received her BAs from the University of Florida within the College of the Arts in Art History, as well as an additional BA double major within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Linguistics, and Chinese Language. She also took additional coursework to earn a certificate to Teach English as a Second Language. Lexi spent two semesters interning at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Fine Arts in Gainesville, Florida to further research topics relating to Chinese painting and calligraphy. More recently through specific coursework and faculty consultation, Lexi hopes to continue analyzing the sociopolitical themes seen in modern and contemporary Chinese art. She hopes to continue her research and career abroad in Asia as an educator or as a museum curator.
