Denise Alor
Art History

Denise Alor is a first year MA student in the Art History program with a BA in English and Art History from Texas State University. Her main interest lies in Pre-Columbian Art and in highlighting indigenous and other marginalized worldviews in contemporary art and visual culture. During her final year of undergraduate studies, she dedicated her time to a thesis paper covering the worship of Santa Muerte as a method for disenfranchised communities in Mexico to decolonize Catholicism. Her other interests include pampering her pet cat, and reading fantasy novels.
