Cali Banks
Interdisciplinary Media Arts Practices (IMAP)

Hailing from Syracuse, New York, Cali received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Technology from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. During her undergraduate studies at Allegheny College, Cali was one of two students to receive departmental honors in art. She has been the recipient of the Foster B. Doane Juror's Prize for Best in Show, as well as receiving the award for Outstanding Senior Thesis in Art and Technology. She was also a recipient of the Richard Kleeman Research Fund, and was able to present her thesis research at the Richard J. Cook – Teresa M. Lahti Scholars Symposium. Cali also had the experience of being an intern at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado, during 2017.

Cali explores the complexities of the human body and experience through the mediums of photography, videography, and new media. Being interested in creating intimate experiences between the audience and her work, Cali creates immersive multimedia installations, as well as large-scale photographic prints
