The corresponding video series Air Quality Monitoring Devices and Intro to AQ-IQ is intended to supplement this lesson. 

The learning objectives are for the students to be able to: 

  • List and describe the three primary reasons to study air quality (health effects, aesthetics, and climate change)

  • Define the difference between primary and secondary pollutants, and gas-phase and particulate pollutants

  • Explain the different sources of CO2, VOCs and NO2
