UnderRepresented Students in Astronomy (URSA) is a pilot organization with the goal of increasing student retention rates in the fields related to Astronomy. We aim to provide the necessary tools to bolster and promote community of inclusion consisting of mentors, opportunities and other assets to aid underrepresented students. Underrepresented students are people of color/minorities, women, first generation students, immigrants, low income students, members of LGBT* community, and anyone who feels underrepresented in the Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences (APS) department. We welcome, and encourage, anyone who wishes to further these goals to join us.
We meet once (sometimes twice) a month on Wednesdays at 5pm in Duane Physics (room is variable). Food is always provided and everyone is welcome! Please email Eryn.Cangi@Colorado.edu to be added to the GoogleGroup for further information, or search for URSA in the GoogleGroups app and request to join!
