Charles Danforth

D321 (Duane)

I split my time between teaching large introductory astronomy classes and observational research of the intergalactic and circumgalactic medium, active galactic nuclei (aka quasars), and the galaxy/IGM ecology at low redshift.  I work primarily with ultraviolet and optical spectra, much of it with the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph onboard the Hubble Space Telescope.  I also spend a lot of time in the mountains on long runs, ski trips, camping with my kids, and other outdoorsy adventures.
