Starting in the 1920s American history began to be regularly chronicled with audio recordings. By the 1930s an audio recording industry had become firmly established not only in the production of commercial phonograph records but records made to facilitiate the operation of radio networks and radio stations. Advertisers, Agencies, broadcasters, bandleaders, musicians, singers and everyone working in radio dealt with radio recordings. The number of recordings made by broadcasters was staggering and many thousands of these recordings are preserved by the Glenn Miller Archive. Learn more:
