I am currently a sophomore here at CU Boulder double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. I hope someday to contribute to breakthrough medical technologies via research and development either in private or public industry. Topics such as brain-machine interfaces, prosthetics, tissue engineering, and implantable devices are what interest me the most. I someday also hope to go to graduate school as well to become a much more informed candidate for such a position. To both of these ends, I am currently working at a cardiovascular graft and stent lab here on campus through the Discovery Learning Apprenticeship. During my time at the lab, I will be trying to understand the mechanical properties and functionalization of a novel regenerative arterial scaffold. I am also a member of the Tau Beta Pi chapter here at CU ā which is the engineering honors society. I am also a proud member of the Engineering Honors Program ā through which I have been lucky to find a diverse group of hardworking and driven individuals with similar academic and extracurricular interests. I am also currently a Resident Advisor in Cheyenne Arapaho, which houses the Leeds Honors Program. This position will provide me the opportunity to connect with first-year students and help them succeed to the best of my ability. For my remaining years at CU, Iām looking forward to making new connections and friends that will hopefully pave the way for a meaningful career. This scholarship has allowed me to stress less about how my college will be paid for and I am extremely grateful for the ForeverGold donors who made it possible. I have always seen scholarships as not a reward for high achievement but an investment for continued excellence. I know that with such a generous financial boost, I can divert energy from any financial worries and direct it to become the best version of myself here at CU while also contributing as much as I can to the community here.
