Marie Mangano
Senior Program Manager, National Outreach and Engagement

Marie joined the CU Boulder Alumni Association in May 2022 as the Senior Program Manager for National Engagement with the Forever Buffs Engagement and Outreach team. Marie oversees the planning and execution of the Alumni Association's regional events such as Buffs Bashes -- the Official CU tailgate before our away games and for post-season basketball. Prior to joining the Forever Buffs Engagement and Outreach team at CU Boulder, Marie spent four years at the University of Maryland in College Park planning and executing philanthropic events for the Office of Special Events. As Events and Program Coordinator, Marie managed a portfolio of events including the triannual UMCPF Board of Trustees Meetings, Donor Relations and Stewardship's 1856 Society President's Weekend, and events for the Incentive Awards Program (a scholarship program and Presidential Initiative). In addition to her portfolio, she supported a wide range of events executed by Special Events including groundbreaking and dedication ceremonies, regional campaign events, Convocation and campus-wide Commencement ceremonies, the 2020 Presidential Inauguration, academic milestone celebrations and award ceremonies, and the President's Suite for UMD Terrapin Football & Basketball. Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, Marie also organized and facilitated team workshops around DEI and inclusive event planning. Marie graduated in May 2022 with a Master's in Public Policy specializing in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from UMD. Originally from Northern Virginia, she received a BS in Management from George Mason University with minors in English and Communication. Outside of work, Marie enjoys going on mountainous outdoor adventures, traversing the globe, binge-watching shows, and spending time with her 6-year-old pitmix, Fancy Pants.
