The Arabic placement exam will be held on the following schedule online or in-person.

August 18th, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm (In-person - Online)
August 19th, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm (Online)

Arabic placement exam overview:

The exam consists of an oral interview (max 30 minutes) and, if needed, a written exam that targets a specific course level. The duration of the written exam depends on the level and it does not exceed 90 minutes.

Who should take the placement exam?
1. Students who seek admission into the Arabic program and have completed Arabic courses outside the university.
2. Students who have studied on their own or outside the university or who have acquired Arabic through residence in or travel to an Arabic speaking country.
3. Students who have studied abroad and want to register for the next level of Arabic.
4. Students who have a gap of one year or longer between taking Arabic courses.

Students enrolling in ARAB 1010if you have no prior experience with the Arabic language, the placement exam is not necessary.
