A female on the top of a mountainCongratulations to our Chinese major, Morgan Sackett, for receiving a ROTC Scholarship to study Mandarin in Kaohsiung, Taiwan at Wenzao University of Languages for eight weeks this summer through the Indiana University!

"I started learning Chinese because I fell in love with the process of learning foreign languages and enhancing my understanding of other cultures. As far as why I chose Chinese, I figured between China's increasing global influence and the sheer number of people who speak Mandarin that it would be a useful language to learn."

She started learning Chinese in high school and chose to major in Chinese at CU Boulder. She plans to use Mandarin by teaching English in either Taiwan or China and hopes to be able to translate comics in the future.
