My name is Dan Cwynar, first year academic advisor. Prior to moving to Colorado, I worked at an online institution in my home state of New Hampshire. After living in the Granite state for over two decades I decided it was time to make a change. My love for the outdoors brought me out to Colorado with my partner Danielle, and our black lab Arya. We are currently living in the Gunbarrel area and are looking forward to exploring the boulder area as well as the rest of the Front Range.
Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. I have been skateboarding and snowboarding for over a decade and still enjoy cruising around, even if my knees and back don’t permit me to go “as hard” as I used to. I love hiking and backpacking, and have hiked a majority of the 4,000 foot peaks located in New Hampshire. One of my favorite ways to enjoy an evening is around a campfire with my pup, some friends, and a craft beer.
I received my undergraduate education from Keene State College, a small liberal arts school in Southwestern New Hampshire. I taught secondary social studies at a local high school for a brief period before attending Northeastern University as a full time graduate student. I graduated with my masters in higher education administration in the spring of 2014.
I am really enjoying the culture at CU boulder, and I am looking forward to once again being immersed in a community of learning.
