Monday through Friday: Duane F211 (at the elevator in Gamow Tower), UCB 391
Catherine attended Saddleback Community College before completing her BA at the University of California at San Diego in Cultural Anthropology – emphasis in Psychological Anthropology. At UCSD she studied the astronaut community from an anthropological perspective (it is a tribe of sorts!).
She then received an M.S. from CU’s Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program (ITP) and spent 16 years building products and services for Internet start-up companies in fields such as broadband, healthcare, and consulting. In 2012 she completed an M.A. in Clinical Counseling with special interest in the needs of gifted and twice-exceptional students (gifted with learning disabilities).
Catherine is a nationally certified career counselor and can help students in Physics and Astronomy explore career options outside of research. Catherine also works with the Non-Traditional Student Organization at CU and seeks to ease the barriers for transfer students who are facing “transfer shock” and rocky adjustments.
In her free time, she enjoys attending campus lectures, exploring obscure bookstores, traveling around the Rocky Mountains, long brisk walks, and hanging out with friends and family.
