Jenny grew up in Minnesota, and before joining the CU-Boulder Academic Advising Center in 2011, she spent time living and learning in Wisconsin, Oregon, and Denmark. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and her Master's degree in College Student Services Administration at Oregon State University. Her interests have always fallen in the areas of education and exploring other cultures, which led her to pursue opportunities including teaching and studying abroad, researching the Amish, academic advising, admissions counseling, and developing new programs- most recently the Academic Coaching Program in the College of Arts & Sciences at CU-Boulder.
Jenny currently serves as the Academic Coaching Supervisor and loves both the work she gets to do with her students in helping them realize their potential, and the work she does leading her incredible team of Academic Coaches.
Her favorite things to do in her free time are traveling, reading, biking, hiking, practicing yoga, playing board games, and most importantly spending time with her family. In coaching, in teaching, and in life, she believes that "Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be" (Ralph Waldo Emerson).
