Eva Lacy
Computer Science; Mathematics Advisor

ECOT 826 UCB 430

Hi, my name is Eva Lacy and I joined the AAC as an advisor in Fall 2013 – with the launch of the new Computer Science major in Arts and Sciences. My academic background includes graduate and post-doctoral research (I have a Ph.D. in Biology), teaching at the Community College of Aurora, and serving as a full-time faculty member at a small college where I also did lots of advising.

I have a strong and long-standing commitment to student success in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) disciplines. Advising in Computer Science and Math is another way I can help students make sound academic choices and prepare for exciting and rewarding futures. I am also very interested in promoting diversity in STEM fields – which means laying a path to success for women and other under-represented groups in these areas. I’m always happy to talk about these exciting opportunities!

My husband and I and our two cats (Billy the Kid and Tom Pickett- a member of Billy the Kid’s famous gang of outlaws) moved to Denver almost three years ago and we are still learning about and experiencing this wonderful area. I love to hear about beautiful/cool/funky places to visit in the area, so feel free to share!
