Mia Axon joined CU Boulder Advancement as Assistant Dean for Advancement, School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder in September 2018. Mia brings a wealth of advancement experience. She has successfully served a variety of organizations including the University of Michigan, Outward Bound, the American Civil Liberties Union, The Nature Conservancy, Environmental Defense Fund, and the National Museum of Wildlife Art (Jackson Hole).
Mia has a passion for the School of Education’s mission and enjoys connecting donors to the School and CU. Mia is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned a Masters in Harp Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. She was a concert harpist before turning her professional attention to advancement in the not-for-profit sector. Mia is also an accomplished rock climber: she was the fourth women in the world to climb 5.14a and has a successful sport-climbing competition record.
Mia currently serves as a national board member for the American Alpine Club. In her free time Mia loves to climb, ski, spend time in the mountains, and hang out with her teenage son.
