Eric Horner

Biography

Eric Horner joined CU Boulder in 2019 as the Assistant Dean of Advancement for the Research & Innovation Office.  In this position, he supports Vice Chancellor Terri Fiez by leading private philanthropic support for twelve affiliated research institutes, climate science, and quantum initiatives in addition to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship program for students and faculty commercialization.  Eric’s previous advancement experience includes working in development at Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, the Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (Shirley Ryan Ability Lab) and Echo Fundraising Consultants. 

Prior to his career in development, Eric served as a diaconal minister for eight years in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.  Eric earned his undergraduate degree in Religion and Classics with a certificate in leadership from Northwestern University and Master of Theology and Education at the Lutheran School of Theology at U. Chicago.
