David Carpenter

Biography

David Carpenter joined the University of Colorado in January of 2019. Prior to CU, David held leadership fundraising positions at Claremont Graduate University and Scripps College in Southern California. Before moving into Advancement work, he carved out a freelance career as a journalist, and then as a writer for film and television.

David received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Yale and a master’s degree in Higher Education from Claremont Graduate University. He is a certified specialist in gift planning, and his volunteer experience includes service with the Napili Kai Foundation on Maui, the Mojave Desert Land Trust in Joshua Tree, and several non-profit organizations dedicated to educational access. David and his wife enjoy hiking, road trips, old movies, cooking and reading.
