Do you know the four main Elf food groups? If you answered: “Candy, candy canes, candy
corn, and SYRUP,” you’re not going to want to miss the free showing of Elf in Chem 140, on December 3 at 8 p.m.! Ugly sweater contest included!
The University of Colorado Boulder Program Council hosts many fun events throughout the school year, my favorite being the movie nights! On September 25, I saw Inside Out with my friends for free in Chem 140 and it was a blast! There was even free popcorn, Monster energy drinks and Program Council swag. On November 6 of this year, they held an advanced screening of Spotlight Movie for free in Chem 140. Where else can you see movies that are still in theaters (or haven’t gone to theatres yet) for free?
What is the purpose of Program Council? Program Council promotes live entertainment on campus including comedy, live music and advanced screenings of blockbuster films. The organization hosts all kinds of events, of which are completely organized and operated by the student staff. The student group has brought in impressive talents to the University of Colorado—from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Maroon 5!
If you are interested in being behind the scenes of this operation of free and fun events for students, the group holds “street team” meetings every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in their office UMC, room 401. Their official website is www.programcouncil.com.
If you like the Program Council Facebook page here, you can stay up-to-date with their calendar of events and possibly even win one of their ticket giveaways.
Don’t forget—the best way to spread holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear! I can’t wait to see all of the ugly Christmas sweaters on December 3!
