Undergraduate Opportunities

The Central and East European Studies Certificate gives students the opportunity to study the history, politics, language, literature and culture of Russia and Central and Eastern Europe. The program fosters new knowledge and understandings of Central and Eastern Europe, and trains a new generation by providing the knowledge, tools and experience necessary for understanding these societies and for playing productive roles in their reconstruction. The program offers students a broad understanding of the cultures and societies of Central and Eastern Europe and for this it draws heavily from the expertise of faculty from a variety of campus departments.

Students are eligible for a number of study abroad programs, including the summer program in St. Petersburg, which is sponsored by the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures. CU­ Boulder also has connections with programs in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Consult the Study Abroad Office for details.
