The Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder can be found in the Ketchum Building. Our department has nearly two dozen full-time faculty members, and our research spans many common areas of specialization, with highly respected scholarship in qualitative and quantitative methodology. Faculty research areas of expertise include: Criminology, Cultural Sociology, Environment, Hazards, and Disasters, Gender and Sexuality, Health and Medicine, Life Course, Aging, and Youth, Political Economy, Population, Race and Ethnicity, Social Psychology and Emotions.
