Darren Chavez is the manager of Provost’s Office operations. He manages logistical operations, strategic coordination, and serves as an aide to the provost and vice chancellor. He supervises an administrative team that provides strategic logistical coordination for members of the provost’s cabinet and their teams. Prior to his current role, he was an executive aide to the provost, executive vice provost, senior vice provost and dean of the Graduate School.

Before becoming a member of the CU Boulder community, Chavez held roles at the University of Colorado system in the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Office of Vice President for Budget and Finance. He joined the University of Colorado community in 2011.

Chavez earned an MA from Columbia University and a BS from Regis University.
