What is International SOS?

International SOS is an essential health & safety resource for students. International SOS provides support throughout your program & as you are preparing to go. International SOS:

  • Facilitates students' Education Abroad international health insurance.
  • Provides location-specific safety, medical, and security advice prior to departure.
  • Provides guidance on the legality of bringing medication with you into your program destination (and any other countries you may plan to visit). See Taking Medications Abroad for more details.
  • Shares real-time, location-specific security and medical alerts while you are abroad.
  • Assists in scheduling doctor's appointments or mental health support while abroad.

TravelTracker

Education Abroad will register all students with International SOS's travel alert system, TravelTracker, prior to departure based on your program itinerary. TravelTracker will email you a Pre-Trip Advisory that provides an overview of your host destination's health care system, vaccine requirements, safety considerations, and more. TravelTracker will send you updates on potential health, safety, and security risks that might arise while you are on-site for your specific destination.

Connecting with International SOS

The easiest way to connect with International SOS is to create an account before you depart for your program. 

  1. Create an account with International SOS Website and login with the member ID 11BCAS000006, (follow these instructions if you need guidance).
  2. Once you have an account, you can easily connect with International SOS about all of your pre-departure questions as well as connect with them quickly and easily while you are abroad for additional support.

Download the International SOS Assistance App to the phone you will have while you are abroad. The ISOS app allows you to receive alert push notifications (if you choose) as well as use their 24/7 live chat support.
