As for your question regarding how to replicate the effect of the
"Back" button, I wrote a small perl script to do the trick, as I was
faced with a similar dilemma with a friend. The trick is to display
the server environment variable "HTTP_REFERER", which keeps track of
the referring page; however, I wrote this script and am not too sure
how to execute the script through html. I would be happy to email you
the script or post it, and if anyone can tell me the best way to
execute a perl script directly in a page, I would be most
appreciative.

Subject: HOW DO YOU USE "-1" TO RELOAD THE PREVIOUS PAGE VISITED?

I seem to remember seeing somewhere (wish I'd bookmarked it) a way to
use "-1" in a link to cause the browser to load the previouse page
visited. This would allow, for example, an image link to function
identically to the BACK button on the browser, as opposed to
hard-coding
the URL for another page which may or may not have been the page the
user just came from.

The problem is I don't remember the syntax & am unable to make it
work
now. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. In addition to responding
to
the thread, I would also ask that you please email me directly if you
know about this subject.

The syntax also allows for the use of "0" to reload the current page
and
"+1" to go FORWARD. When using "0", there was also a way to set an
attribute that would cause the browser to reload the current page
after
the specified time delay.

Thanks,

Dave
