CU-Boulder provides resources for colleges, schools, departments, and other university units developing web sites, including templates and professional design, content, and development services through Web Communications. To get started, follow these steps:

Step 1: Get Web Space

All university units can have web space on www.colorado.edu. To start, you will need to request a directory:

Step 2: Create Your Site

If you already have a location for your site, you have options for creating it. You can develop it on your own, or contact Web Communications. Before you begin, review CU-Boulder's Web Identity Standards, required for official sites.

If you want to develop your department site on your own, the Web Identity Standards include free templates, and Web Communications provides free consultations to help you use them. The ITS help document on department home pages will assist you with the basics of accessing and updating your site:

Web Communications has won many awards for the sites it has designed to meet CU-Boulder's marketing and communication needs. The unit provides professional web development services for university web sites. Contact Web Communications for a consultation at no cost:

You can also browse Web Central for more information on campus services and web publishing resources:

Step 3: Know the Policies

Web Central lists policies, standards, and key issues web publishers need to be aware of.

Step 4: Get Listed

To have your university site included in CU A to Z and other listings, e-mail your request to Web Communications. Include the name of your site and the URL.
