Web Directory Requests
Managing your official university web site just became a little easier. That's because Information Technology Services and Web Communications have joined forces to create a new, more responsive process for requesting web directory management changes and integrated the solution into Web Central.

Beginning June 19, 2006 all web directory change requests and permission change requests will be submitted through a form on Web Central and fielded by the IT Service Center. Now rather than relying on one person to respond to your web directory change requests, your requests will be fielded by a team of trained IT customer service professionals during IT Service Center hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

CUConnect Upgraded
CUConnect, CU-Boulder's secure portal to web-based services and information, has just been upgraded to improve performance and stability. Services are based on your role at the university.

Students can access course schedules, grades, billing, WebFiles, student employment listings, news and events, and much more...

Faculty can access the course toolkit with course roster listings and photo rosters, WebCT, academic and research resources, and more...

Staff can access their pay advice on-line, system resources, accounting tools, news, announcements - with much more to come.

IdentiKey Changes to Improve Security
ITS is introducing a more stringent IdentiKey policy for the protection of computer users on the CU-Boulder campus. The new policy involves more complex IdentiKey passwords and measures that make IdentiKey password guessing more difficult. ITS will also start implementing IdentiKey lockout measures which lock users out of their accounts after five incorrect login attempts.

Is Someone Spying on You?
Spyware is unwanted software that attaches itself to your computer, often without your knowledge, when you surf the Web. It spies on you, and when it does, it noticeably bogs down and can crash your computer. Spyware can even compromise your identity. Want to learn more? Information, including how to determine if you have spyware and how to get rid of it, can be found on the IT Security web site at www.colorado.edu/its/security

Network Security Implementation Is Moving Forward
ITS is in the process of implementing network changes which will move the campus closer to realizing a secure network architecture. ITS has received funding for additional staff and has completed the physical installation of hardware required for the first phases of this project.
