IT Council Mission
The IT Council provides strategic leadership, coordination and guidance
concerning campus-wide information technology initiatives and vision.
- Identify new opportunities
and issues and help provide campus vision for them, coordinating with
other campus groups as appropriate.
- Provide coordination and
guidance for ongoing campus initiatives, coordinating with other
campus groups as appropriate.
- Recommend priorities
among campus-level initiatives based upon programmatic importance and
resource needs
example: infrastructure support for off-campus access.
- Provide leadership and
coordination in the implementation of the campus' IT overall vision.
The IT Council provides high-level
management (policy, budgetary, and organizational) recommendations
related to campus-wide information technology issues.
- Provide or coordinate
recommendations on needs for and allocations of campus-wide information
technology infrastructure resources.
- Provide or coordinate
recommendation on IT policies.
- Provide or coordinate
recommendations on IT costs and pricing.
- Provide or coordinate
recommendation on IT organizational models.
The IT Council provides
communication and advocacy for IT.
- Communicate with CU-Boulder
students, faculty and staff through advisory groups to IT council and
campus-wide communications, and assist in developing external
communications.
- Provide and coordinate
CU-Boulder representation in system, regional and national IT groups
and functions.
- Identify external funding
opportunities and help assure that CU is responsive to them.
- Serve as an advocate for campus
IT needs and priorities to Chancellor, cabinet, and campus.
