The Office of Academic and Campus Technology

The Office of Academic and Campus Technology provides leadership and oversight for CU-Boulder’s information technology (IT) infrastructure and for the campus’s academic and administrative uses of IT. The office encompasses five functional areas:

Vice Provost for Academic and Campus Technology

The Vice Provost serves as the Boulder campus Chief Information Officer (CIO) with ultimate responsibility for campus IT. The CIO also chairs the campus IT Council.

The Chief Technology Officer has line responsibility for the campus's IT activities which includes oversight of the campus's central IT service provider (Information Technology Services), IT Architecture, IT Security, and the Academic Technology unit.

Security

The IT Security Office oversees campus-wide security-related programs and issues including strategic and tactical planning, risk management, policy development and enforcement, network security, incident response coordination, and security-related education.

Academic Technology

Academic Technology provides consultative support of faculty use of instructional technologies; evaluation of technology use in support of teaching and learning; and needs assessments to determine the campus’s strategic priorities with regard to the deployment and adoption of academic technologies.

IT Architecture and Program Management

IT Architecture and Program Management provides strategic direction to ITS and the campus in the areas of IT services and enterprise architecture.
