The University of Colorado at Boulder’s IT decision-making processes reflect the complexity of the campus’s IT environment as well as the campus’s commitment to broad participation in discussions and decisions about IT resources. A variety of groups are involved in various aspects of decisions regarding campus technology. IT advisory committees that are managed by the Office of Academic and Campus Technology include:
Information Technology Council (ITC)
The Information Technology Council (ITC) is CU-Boulder’s official consultative, advisory and representative council to the Vice Provost for Academic and Campus Technology (VPACT) as well as from the VPACT to CU-Boulder. The purpose of the ITC is to provide council and advice to the VPACT who has leadership and oversight responsibility for campus information technology infrastructures and for the academic uses of information technology.
IT Infrastructure Advisory Group (ITIAG)
ITIAG, established in 2002, advises on CU-Boulder operational and strategic administrative and infrastructure IT issues. Members are largely IT professionals, and are drawn from all Vice Chancellor areas as well as from units with significant IT staff or services.
Academic Technologies
Several conduits and venues are available for faculty to become involved in decisions about IT on campus.
To become involved in any of these initiatives or groups, please contact Deborah Keyek-Franssen, Director of Academic Technology (deblkf@colorado.edu). To learn more about the BFA's Technology and Administration Committee, please contact Christian Kopf (E.Kopff@Colorado.EDU).
Other committees at the campus and system level address specific IT-related issues and initiatives, such as:
