Mercy Housing Project is FULL

Mission: To create stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing, financing and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities.

Join refugee youth from Sudan, Somali and other countries and their families in prepping an urban garden plot for spring plantings, and enoying fun activities bridging cultures with kids from around the world. Participants will leave the UMC at 9am and return at 3pm. Breakast and lunch are provided.

Longmont Ending Violence Initiative

Mission: To establish a coordinated community-wide awareness and response to domestic violence in Longmont.

White Ribbon Campaign
Help LEVI accomplish their goal by assembling 2,500 White Ribbons. The ribbons will be for men to wear during the White Ribbon Campaign this summer. We have so many ribbons but not enough hands to make them. Be a part of this amazing campaign! This project is part of the Drop-In Site and participants can choose to participate in the three other projects that will be going on. Participants can choose to stay for as long as they want.

Project Angel Heart Project is FULL

Mission: Project Angel Heart promotes the health, dignity and self-sufficiency of people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses by providing nutritious, home-delivered meals with care and compassion.

Meal Bag Decorating
Help people with life-threatening illnesses feel loved and remembered by decorating a meal bag with a cheerful picture or message. Bring your creativity and well wishes. This project is part of the Drop-In Site and participants can choose to participate in the three other projects that will be going on. Participants can choose to stay for as long as they want.

Eco-Cycle Boulder Project is FULL

Mission: Working to Build a Zero Waste Community

Eco-Cycle CHaRM Facelift and Helping Hands Project
Educate yourself while volunteering your time to accomplish much needed work at Eco-Cycle's CHaRM Center. Eco-Cycle's Center for Hard to Recycle Materials has plenty to do. We'll be scraping, sanding and painting various areas as well as compiling Zero-Waste Event Kits. Volunteers will also help residents with their recycling drop-offs. Learn something new today!

Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center

Mission: To promote the physical, psychological and social well-being of persons with disabilities through their interaction with a therapeutic team consisting of a horse, an instructor and/or a therapist, and volunteers.

Save the Pastures!
Spend your morning on this beautiful 38 acre farm. We'll be weeding and raking, preparing the garden areas for spring planting. We'll also be scraping and painting various fence areas as well as re-setting irrigation pipes to help save trampled pastures.

Boulder County AIDS Project

Mission: To provide support, advocacy and education to those in our community who are infected with or affected by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and to serve as an outreach and information center to prevent further transmission of HIV and the resulting Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

Spring is in the Air
Eaton House needs some additional TLC. BCAP is looking for eager volunteers to help them with their spring preparations and perennial garden planting. We'll weed, mulch, seed, plant, remove dead lawn areas for re-seeding and possibly remove a stone bed to prepare for future plantings.

RSVP of Boulder County

Mission: To mobilize volunteers 55+ to meet community needs and to promote the security, independence and comfort of seniors and adults with disabilities.

Senior Biography Day
Learn about the lives of senior citizens in your community! Their amazing, historical perspectives are truly invaluable. Travel back in time and enjoy the journey to the present. Be a part of RSVP's initiative to compile a Biography Book at an Assisted Living facility in Longmont. Each volunteer will be paired with a senior citizen to conduct an intergenerational interview. We ask that volunteers commit to typing these biographies after the event and returning them to RSVP within the following week. We will provide the questions; you will provide the smiles, companionship, listening skills and typing skills.

Carriage House

Mission: To provide a stable, supportive community for homeless men and women. We are committed to addressing immediate survival needs and to providing resources which lead to employment, housing, personal stability, and healing.

Carriage House Clean-Up Day
Carriage House needs your help to thoroughly clean and reorganize their offices, conference room, administrative facilities, kitchen and dining room. In addition, we'll build and install new shelving in the kitchen cabinet.

Growing Gardens Project is FULL

Mission: To enrich the lives of Boulder County residents through environmentally sustainable gardening programs that empower people to experience a direct and deep connection with plants, the land and each other.

Spring Fever!
Bring your Spring Fever to this amazing Community Garden. Help us do spring cleaning in the Children's Peace Garden, Cultiva!, the youth operated Organic Market Garden as well as in the greenhouse. Your morning will include planting and transplanting, as well as a variety of really fun greenhouse & field projects. In addition, you'll assist in preparations for the up-coming Ginormous Plant Sale.

Mission: Providing residential treatment, counseling, and shelter to youth.

Chase Away Winter
Chase away winter by getting this house ready for spring! We'll weed, rake, pick-up sticks, mow, fertilize and prune, and get our community garden ready for spring! In addition, we'll clean all the windows!

The Living School Project is FULL

Mission: To provide a trusting, supportive and evolving environment where students can learn, guided by their own curiosity and intrinsic motivation.

Beautification Project
Volunteers will paint the kitchen, do some light maintenance on the wooden deck, clean out the side yard and re-lay pebble gravel. If handy people are available to join us, we can disassemble and reassemble some chain link fence areas to relocate the entrance. We also need help reorganizing our reading room and are looking for creative minds to wash and then repaint decorative artwork on the exterior windows leading to our front entrance.

Frasier Meadows Retirement Community Project is FULL

Mission: To provide a variety of high-quality residential and health care options in a caring and financially responsible environment. We are committed to meeting the emotional, physical, spiritual and social needs of our residents--always recognizing and respecting their need for dignity, community, activity, and economic security.

Garden Clean-up & Senior Visit
Spring into action with staff and residents at Frasier Meadows. We'll dig up sod, prepare soil for planting, amend architectural pots and do general clean-up in the gazebo area. We'll also participate in an impromptu visit with residents. Please note that some residents do have limited cognitive abilities but would still appreciate your visit.

Balanced Choice Healthcare Project is FULL

Mission: Balanced Choice Health Care, Inc. develops ideas for and educates the public about health care financing proposals that provide quality universal coverage, are fiscally responsible, and are advantageous to consumers, providers and employers.

500 and One More
We're creating promotional materials; cut and tie bookmarks or write and address letters. Smaller children can get creative by making Thank you cards for Balanced Choice Health Care supporters. This project is part of the Drop-In Site and participants can choose to participate in the three other projects that will be going on. Participants can choose to stay for as long as they want.

Project Linus

Mission: First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers." Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

Make a Blanket Day
Assemble 32 quilts for the Fostering Healthy Futures Program for the Kempe Children's Center. Make blankets for children; bring your sewing machines and notions! This project is part of the Drop-In Site and participants can choose to participate in the three other projects that will be going on. Participants can choose to stay for as long as they want.

Association For Community Living Project is FULL

Mission: We believe that people with developmental disabilities belong in the community in natural proportions -- to live, to work, and to participate fully in all aspects of community life. The ACL of Boulder County exists to ensure these rights by acting as a catalyst to promote attitudes, practices, programs and policies that result in full participation.

Garden Prep Galore
Join the staff at Association for Community Living to prepare their fabulous garden plot for this season's plantings. Volunteers are needed to cultivate garden areas, weed, rake, replace sandstone paths and tidy up the outdoor spaces so that clients can plant this spring.

Cal-Wood Education Center Project is FULL

Mission: To offer a unique outdoor educational experience to youth and adults in a manner that will carry on the vision of Roger and Oral Calvert. To this end Cal-Wood's goals are: 1) to help all who come to Cal-Wood develop a greater appreciation or the natural world; 2) to offer environmental education to those who would not otherwise experience it; and 3) to provide unique outdoor education opportunities in a special mountain setting.

Save the Old Ponderosas
Head to the mountains for this project! Cal-Wood Education Center in Jamestown needs your help to cut down small diameter trees that compete with old growth Ponderosa Pines. This is a beautiful, back-country wilderness setting in Boulder's backyard and well worth the drive! You'll also be well-educated about this process and why its important to "Save the Old Ponderosas." Bring all of your energy and every bit of muscle; hand-saws will be used!!

Chinook Clubhouse

Mission: Dedicated to enhancing the recovery of men and women with mental illnesses. It provides opportunities for members to live, work, learn, and socialize while contributing their talents in a community of mutual support

Landscape at the Clubhouse
Chinook Clubhouse needs your help! We'll be sprucing up the grounds inside and out! There's much to do! We'll prepare garden beds andplanters by pulling, weeding, tilling, raking and finally....planting! In addition, we need to accomplish indoor tasks such as dusting, window washing, and vacuuming.

Sister Carmen Community Center Project is FULL

Mission: To provide assistance without discrimination to residents of East Boulder County who are in need.

The Great Reorganize of 2008
Assist, sort and organize different areas of the center. We'll need volunteers to assist us in the food bank, donations area and thrift store. This site will have Spanish-speaking Ambassadors.

Wildlands Restoration Volunteers Project is FULL

Mission: To foster a community spirit of shared responsibility for the stewardship and restoration of public lands among residents of the Northern Colorado Front Range and beyond.

Spring Brook Trail & Habitat Restoration
The City of Boulder will be constructing a system of new trails in the Dowdy Draw area and closing a network of social trails. WRV and you will close and restore 3,400 feet of eroding social trails and restore them to native prairie. Volunteers will plant seeds and install erosion matting and drainage structures where needed.

Note: This project requires your participation for the entire day 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. Lunch will be provided. Please register only if you can stay for the duration of the project.

Boulder Creek Watershed Initiative

Mission: To protect and enhance the health of the Boulder Creek watershed by community based stewardship through education, information and action.

Boulder Creek Adventure
You'll never know what will be discovered in Boulder Creek until you join us on this adventure. We'll be doing major creek clean-up starting at Scott Carpenter Park and continuing west to Folsom, at least!

Hospice Care Thrift Shop

Mission: We provide compassionate end-of-life care, guide and comfort the grieving and educate our community.

Thrift Shop
Assemble and install a new grid-wall system around the HospiceCare & Share Thrift Shop to create more display area. We may also need assistance sorting donations.

The Acorn School Project is FULL

Mission: To provide high quality, accessible, early care and education programs and to advocate for higher standards in the field of early childhood education.

Playground Perfection & Spring Clean-Up
Join the staff at The Acorn School for a day of painting, construction, playground maintenance, clean-up and more! You'll fill sandboxes, assist with loft construction and painting in classroooms and spruce up the outdoor playground area.

Medicine Horse Program Project is FULL

Mission: To transform the mental health and life skills of adolescents, adults and families. Through interaction with horses, participants experience psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Happy Horses, Happy People
Be a part of transforming unused space into a brand new Therapy Center! We'll clean and paint walls, hallways, doors and cabinets. We have a large fence that needs staining and plenty of flower and garden bed areas that need tending to. The horse stalls need upkeep as well, shovelers and wheelbarrow lovers welcome! Additional outdoor tasks include general debris clean-up & weed-wacking! Handy-people required to assist with post-hole digging, concrete mixing and setting posts in the indoor horse arena. And if that's not enough, help us stain plywood sheets for the new wall barriers and wheelchair accessible pathways! This project takes place on a lovely 10 acre horse farm, horses included!

Colorado Reptile Humane Society Project is FULL

Mission: Colorado Reptile Humane Society works to improve the lives of reptiles and amphibians in captivity and in the wild through education and action.

Box Turtle Demonstration Pen
Help construct a grant-funded (American Humane Association & Townsend Wildlife Fund) 40' X 35' Box Turtle Pen with a shallow pond, raised garden beds, turtle appropriate landscaping and more! Learn how you can build this decorative habitat in your own yard and meet some really wild reptiles while you're there! Reptiles everywhere!
