Projects and details are listed below. Please register if you would like to participate. Spaces are limited, registration does not guarantee you have a spot in the project so please have second or third choices. We will email you as soon as possible to let you know.

Support kids as community leaders!
Mission:Project Yes works to encourage youth to be leaders in social change through the arts and service learning.
Project Description:SeLebration 2009: Over 700 volunteers from all over Boulder County will participate in gardening, spring clean-up, public art, and a variety of other service projects throughout Lafayette and surrounding areas.  The event also includes an afternoon program highlighting youth service projects with presentations from local youth and community leaders as well as a community carnival and family entertainment!

Buffalo Can Challenge Team - Project Full

Form a team to design and build a CANstructure with donated food!
Mission:Buffalo Can Challenge is a canned food drive for the Boulder Community Food Share, as well as, a canned food sculpture competition.
Project Description:The Buffalo Can Challenge is a competition organized to raise food and awareness for the Boulder Community Food Share. Registered groups design and build a sculpture out of nonperishable food items to raise awareness about hunger. The BuCC competition will be held at the Balch Field House on April 24, with public viewing and deconstruction on April 25th during the CU Spring Football event. Any campus group, department, office, and all student, staff, and faculty are welcome to register as a group. April 24th and April 25th!

Buffalo Can Challenge - DeCANstruction - Project Full

Deliver food to our community!
Mission:Buffalo Can Challenge is a canned food drive for the Boulder Community Food Share, as well as, a canned food sculpture competition.
Project Description:Help us deCANstruct creative canned food structures at Balch Fieldhouse after the spring football game. We need to ensure that all donated food is packed and loaded onto delivery trucks for Community Food Share.

Forever Buffs 5k Run - Project Full

Start a new CU tradition to support our campus!
Mission:One of the primary goals of the Senior Class Council is to connect the senior class to campus through tradition.
Project Description:Volunteers are needed to act as marshals for the race and to help with clean-up. The Forever Buffs 5K Run will be an annual tradition started by the Senior Class Council. The 5K Run is a collaboration with the Alumni Association's Forever Buffs initiative.

Parenting Place - Project Full

Help create thriving developmental opportunities for young children.
Mission:The goal of Parenting Place is to relieve isolation and reduce the stress of parenting by providing outreach and a place where families can receive support, education, and develop a sense of community.
Project Description:Bright Beginnings is a Parenting Place program that creates care packages that help parents nurture and encourage growth in their child up to age 3. Volunteers are needed to help assemble these packets.

CU Going Local - Project Full

Join a student-led sustainable community garden project for the day!
Mission:CU Going Local is a student run organization that coordinates the care of sustainable community gardens on campus and the hill with an educational component.
Project Description:Volunteers would be planting, tilling, watering, weeding and doing general garden clean-up at a campus garden and a nieghborhood garden.

Grace Apartments - Mercy Housing - Project Full

Community building with refugees from Asia and Africa to Colorado!
Mission:To create stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing, financing and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities.
Project Description:Work alongside local and refugee families at Grace Apartments in Denver on a community project. Project details coming soon.
