Now accepting Spring grant applications

Published: Jan. 9, 2013

Are you traveling to a conference or workshop and need funding? Then apply for an UGGS Student Travel Grant!  Max award $300. All graduate students are eligible to apply for funding, but you can only receive UGGS travel funding ONCE during your tenure at CU. Also note that while the majority of students request funding for conference travel, UGGS travel grants will cover a variety of travel related to your graduate studies. See the UGGS website for eligible travel dates.

UGGS also offers two types of student group grants for events taking place during the spring and summer (both with a max award of $750):

  1. Group Event Grants: for graduate student groups putting on an event that is open to students (particularly graduate students) such as conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
  2. Outreach Event Grants: for graduate student groups putting on an event or seeking funding for a program that will benefit the community and highlight how higher education can benefit the community outside of the university.

Last fall we launched online submission forms for all grants. Applications for Spring 2013 UGGS Travel and Group Grants are now open online at under "Grants".  Please make sure to read the associated Grant Policies and follow ALL directions. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

All applications must be submitted online by 5pm, Wed, February 6th, 2013. NO late applications will be accepted.

Please email UGGS at with any questions, concerns or comments.

Good luck!
